Chris Hemmer, NP:
Christopher Hemmer, N.P., is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American College of Nurse Practitioners. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1995 from Southeast Missouri State University, and a Masters Degree as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He previously worked at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital in Internal Medicine, working with acute and chronic adult health problems. Chris has been with St. Peters Bone & Joint Surgery since October 2000. As a nurse practitioner, he specializes in caring for patients with spine and neck pain. He assists Dr. Terrence Piper in surgical procedures as well as outpatient office care.
He previously worked at Barnes St. Peters Internal Medicine, working with acute and chronic adult health problems.

Marie Freise, PA-C:
Marie C. Freise, PA-C, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Saint Louis University, receiving her Bachelor of Medical Science degree from the Physician Assistant Program in 2002, and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1987. In 2002 she was named in Who's Who among Students in American Colleges and Universities. Marie is Board Certified in the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of both the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Missouri Academy of Physician Assistants.
Her clinical experience began as a Physical Therapist for the Sisters of Saint Mary Rehabilitation, Barnes-Jewish-Christian Rehabilitation and Spine Center and Saint Louis University Hospital, all in St. Louis, Missouri.
Annually, Marie volunteers her time and expertise with a mobile medical team providing humanitarian primary, urgent and emergency care services for the indigent population in Haiti.
Marie is a native of Lincoln County, and currently resides in St. Charles. Marie has been with St. Peters Bone & Joint Surgery since November 2003. As a certified physician assistant, she specializes in caring for patients with general orthopaedic issues, and she assists Dr. Theodore Rummel in surgical procedures as well as outpatient office care.
Jeff Wallace, PA-C:
Jeffrey W. Wallace, PA-C received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 1995 from the University of Colorado. He received his Master of Health Science degree and Certification as a Physician Assistant in August 2004 from Quinnipiac University in Hamden Connecticut.
He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants as well as the Missouri and Connecticut Academies of Physician Assistants.
He has significant emergency care experience and is adept at recognizing and diagnosing issues in the orthopaedic specialty. He has also been involved with several volunteer activities such as the National Kidney Foundation, providing general health, hypertension, and diabetes screening.
Jeff has been with St. Peters Bone & Joint Surgery since August 2005. As a certified physician assistant, he now specializes in caring for patients with foot and ankle pain, and he assists Dr. Richard Helfrey in surgical procedures as well as outpatient office care.
Laura Horn, PA-C:
Laura C. Horn, PA-C received her nursing degree from the University of Missouri in 1988. She graduated Cum Laude from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor of Science degree and Certification as a Physician Assistant in 2002.
She is a member of both the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Missouri Academy of Physician Assistants. She has also held several society and organizational leadership roles, and she has been named in Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities and in the Who’s Who Registry of Rising Young Americans. She is the recipient of awards for her leadership and outstanding academic achievements. In addition, Laura has delivered multiple presentations and educational tools to multiple healthcare audiences.
She has significant experience and expertise as both a registered nurse and as a physician assistant, providing complex medical care to adult and pediatric patients.
Laura joined St. Peters Bone & Joint Surgery in July 2007. As a certified physician assistant, she now specializes in outpatient orthopaedic care for patients of all ages.
