Dr. W. Anthony Frisella M.D. joined St. Peters Bone and Joint Surgery in 2007.  He is a fellowship-trained shoulder surgeon and is board-certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.  Dr. Frisella continues to remain active in teaching and research about problems of the shoulder.  In 2011 he served as an instructor in shoulder arthroscopy at the Orthopedic Learning Center in Chicago, IL.  In 2010 he published a textbook chapter on sports shoulder injuries.  He has published papers and given national talks on rotator cuff repair and shoulder replacements.  For more information on Dr. Frisella’s talks and publications, please click below!

Dr. Frisella grew up in St. Peters, MO and graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1995.  He attended medical school at Washington University in St. Louis where he received multiple awards, graduating in 2001.  After his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Iowa in 2006, he completed an additional year of training and research in shoulder surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York with Drs. Peter McCann and Fran Cuomo.  Dr. Frisella is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon.

 Nationally, only 30 surgeons a year complete a fellowship in shoulder surgery, and Dr. Frisella is the only fellowship-trained shoulder surgeon practicing in St. Charles County. 

 Dr. Frisella is an expert in problems of the shoulder, especially rotator cuff tears, arthritis, and sports injuries.  His specialized training and expertise allow him to deliver modern, high quality care to his patients.

Dane A. Glueck, MD
General Orthopaedics

Dr. Glueck joined St. Peters Bone & Joint in January 2011.  He completed his undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis, and medical school at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock.  After completing his residency and internship in Orthopaedics at the University of Kentucky, Dr. Glueck practiced in Central Kentucky for two years before moving to the St. Louis area in 2007.  He has been practicing in St. Charles County for over 3 years, with the majority of his patient care and surgeries at Progress West HealthCare Center in O’Fallon. 

Dr. Glueck enjoys all areas of Orthopaedics with a special interest in treating knee problems.  This includes treating knee injuries such as ACL and meniscus tears with arthroscopic surgery, and treating knee arthritis with unicondylar (partial) or total knee replacement surgery.  He also performs carpal tunnel release, hip replacement, and treats fractures of all types. 

Dr. Glueck received multiple awards during his training, including Division of Orthopaedic Surgery Excellence Award, AOA, and the Buchanan Key.  He continuously updates his training to reflect the most recent orthopaedic treatment options and techniques for his patients.  He frequently gives talks to the surrounding community on knee injuries and arthritis and their treatments.  He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has been certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons since 2007.

Dr. Larkin is a native of St. Peters, and has been providing the highest quality care in sports medicine and non-surgical orthopaedics to patients of all ages at St. Peters Bone & Joint Surgery since August 2007.  Dr. Larkin has specialized training in the promotion of lifelong fitness and wellness, as well as the treatment and prevention of illness and injury. He is able to help both athletes and non-athletes maximize function and minimize disability and time away from sports, work, or school. He has special interest in concussion care, return to play after injury, and the treatment of acute tendon and ligament injuries, as well as platelet-rich plasma therapy.

After completing high school at Fort Zumwalt South, Dr. Larkin received his undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he graduated cum laude. Dr. Larkin received his M.D. degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine.  He completed his residency training in pediatrics at the University of Missouri, and trained in the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship program at Saint Louis University.

Dr. Larkin is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in both pediatrics and primary care sports medicine. Since 2007, he has been the Team Physician for both the River City Rascals Professional Baseball Club and Fort Zumwalt South High School Athletics.  He serves as the Medical Director for the Lewis and Clark Marathon and served as Associate Medical Director for the 2006 NCAA Men’s Soccer College Cup.  Other events for which he has provided medical coverage include the 2008 and 2009 NCAA Wrestling Championships and the 2007 NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey Frozen Four.  Dr. Larkin has presented at both regional and national sports medicine conferences and he has authored chapters in several sports medicine textbooks.

Dr. Spezia joined SPBJ in 1995. He was a staff orthopaedic surgeon at Darnell Army Medical Center and an Associate Clinical Orthopaedic Professor at Texas A & M Medical School while completing his military obligation. 

Dr. Spezia completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado and received his D.O. degree from the University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Kansas City. He has been board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons since 1997 and a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics since 1997.

Dr. Lombardo received his professional training from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland Ohio.  He completed his surgical training at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington Missouri.  He is a clinical and surgical instructor of podiatric residents with DePaul Medical Center.  He has served as chairman of the department of podiatric medicine and surgery with Des Peres Hospital and is the past president of the Missouri Podiatric Medical Association having just finished a two year term in August 2011.

He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.  Dr. Lombardo has over 20 years of experience in treating all forms of foot and ankle conditions as well as diabetic feet with their related complications.

Jennifer joined St. Peters Bone and Joint in 2011 as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  She completed her undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from Park University in 2006 where she graduated with honors.  She is certified as an Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Training Association.  Since certification, she has supervised many sporting events for St. Louis and St. Charles County high schools. 

In 2008, Jennifer graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College.  She graduated with honors and also received the Harvey and Judy Harris Community Service Award.    She began working as a Registered Nurse at a local Level 1 Trauma Center hospital with critically ill patients. 

Jennifer earned her Master in Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri- St. Louis in 2011.  She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the ANCC.  Jennifer is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and St. Louis Nurses in Advanced Practice.

Jennifer enjoys all areas of Orthopedics, with a special interest in shoulder problems and sports medicine.  Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs.
